13 days of glory

In the middle of the 19th century, a small group of volunteers from about the country, mostly semi- illiterate men and women who only wanted to raise families and begin a new life, gathered in a small, abandoned adobe catholic mission structure not far from present day San Antonio. A much larger force from the south faced them, demanding that they quit the structure, surrender, lay down their arms. Together, they faced this force for thirteen days before their near total annihilation from the guns of the thousands of Mexican soldiers and a vanity driven general who ordered sweeping executions of survivors and the burning of the bodies. Later, more volunteers took revenge upon this Mexican general and his troops at a boggy clearing.

I briefly relate this story because this country finds itself in practically the same circumstances as those besieged volunteers. As a new police officer, just out of the military, in the mid-sixties, I looked about and saw an inundation of seemingly mad people dancing, many nude or semi-dressed, wearing headbands, smoking dope, staring stupidly into admiring press cameras shouting "Peace, Brother". This era saw young men dying as old men dithered in political office in effort to revise history and ensure their own re-elections. I survived that boiling pot to return to America, marry and begin a family but discovered that I was hated and spat upon by the same people I had sworn to defend. Confusion abounded on the part of returning veterans, quickly turning to hatred for most things espoused by the liberal, hippie, dope-smoking, democrats. I wasn't raised with hatred but the constant pounding certainly helped fan those flames.

Years evaporated and the liberal, hippie-types, through their constant pounding and screaming and support by the liberal press, actually took over the country. Environmentalists gone mad had closed much of the country saving insignificant fish and birds whilst citizens suffered, and the courts and press supported it all. A very intelligent but know-nothing man was hoisted into the office of President by the liberal, hippies and he set about the destruction process, allowing the creation of long gas lines, massive interest rates and the wailing of a suffering citizenry. Finally, he was thrown out of office and a breath of fresh air arrived, to the loud screeching of the liberal hippies and the sycophant press. He literally changed the world in his eight years and everyone, except the liberal hippies and tyrants sang his praises, both here and around the world. There followed weak, and indecisive Presidents until a Southerner was again hoisted by the liberal hippies. Then we had eight years of scandal and giveaway by the very people "WE THE PEOPLE" are suppose to support. These eight years are hailed as the most magnificent era in recent American history by the liberal hippies and slobbering press. Next came a bumbler from Texas who mumbled his way through office and started a war that should not have been began. Not that the tyrant heading the country did not need removal but our Commander-And-Chief was incapable of conducting the matter.

NOW!! We find ourselves more deeply mired in the bog of liberals and hippies and "I want it, give it to me"-types with the "election" of one with questionable background and certainly the massively strong desire to appease tyrants and dictators whilst driving the American economy into a ghetto-like communist setting wherein everyone will suffer equally. Massive taxes looming as gigantic deficits soar and he stands at his podium smiling to an enamored, state controlled press, telling the world he is "The One". Drooling masses shout his name and worship him in sickening fashion as he casts coins to the smelling crowd who sing is praise. One watches and is strongly reminded of Hitler motorcades of many years ago wherein thousands of worshiping Germans, weeping woman and glazed-eyed men, screamed "Sieg Heil" and raised their arms in salute at his passing. This self avowed socialist and his self avowed socialist group have foresworn to take the country, the same country that since its inception has allowed, no, aided those who wanted more to achieve their dreams, to the level of soviet Russia in the middle of last century. A place where there is no reward for initiative, where everyone is equal in poverty and need. A place where the elite have absolute power whilst the unwashed mob grovels for their handouts.

I began this piece alluding to the Alamo and the stand of the few who would not kneel to the tyrantical Mexican general. They stood to the ramparts and fought their thirteen magnificent days of glory. They flew their flag proudly and shouted in the face of the creature that would destroy them, "HERE WE STAND!" Can we do less? Can we allow this thing from Chicago to continue to destroy our country, assisted by a boob from Delaware? Can we allow the simpering press and politically driven courts to continue to malign all we have stood for whilst these liberal hippies and Chicago thugs walk on our very Constitution, destroy are God-given rights in the name of environmentalism and Global Warming? Is it time to stand to the ramparts and fight back? Can we, as a people, arise to the alarm and take back our country? Pessimistically, I suspect that most will, apathetically continue on and say, "Oh well, its just a phase and we'll turn the corner one day", all the time the teachers conduct grade school students singing, "Barack Hussein Obama, M M M!" Increasingly strong teacher's unions continue to steal our children's future by robbing them of educations and politicians continue to steal our money through fees and taxes.

STAND THE HELL UP! DO IT! LETS TAKE IT BACK NOW!

And that's my opinion. David
